 Easy but NOT for your TVAug 30, 2010
It is very easy to set up. I have Vista but I am disappointed because I wanted to transfer these DVD for my kids and they will not be able to watch them on TV I can only watch them on my computer with this with Roxio installation.

I purchased Roxio Easy VHS to DVD earlier this year. I could not install it on my computer to save my life. I tried over an entire weekend and it would not install. I finally gave up and put the box out of sight since just looking at it made me frustrated.
Months later I did a clean re-installation of Windows Vista 64-bit on my computer for reasons unrelated to the Roxio software. After reinstalling Vista, I had to go through the task of reinstalling all software and files that were on my computer. While doing so I came across the Roxio box and decided to give it a try. It installed on the FIRST try WITHOUT any problems. I was very surprised at this and came to the conclusion that my earlier problems with this Roxio software were caused by Vista. (Actually, all of my computer problems went away after the re-install of Vista.) The Roxio software now works without any issues whatsoever. I have successfully and painlessly transferred some of my VHS tapes to DVD. Roxio VHS to DVD is actually a good program. I find it to be very user friendly. Its easy to upload tapes, create menus, and burn DVD's. I highly recommend this product to anyone if you can get it to work.

Save your money. This product DOES NOT WORK..... Anyone who says it does is a rocket scientist or a LIAR. I worked with this system for 2 days and with two different computers. The software would not even load on my laptop. It made recordings, sort of, the picture jitters, sometime really bad and sometines just bad. Save your money, I wasted $64 on this piece of junk.
difficult to installAug 25, 2010
First attempt at installation failed. Second time, only the special USB driver laid down. Repeated attempts said successful, but there were no files on hard disk. Tech Support is useless. "Expert" community couldn't help. The solution lay in reformatting drive, laying down windows again, patching, installing Roxio, more patches.
Not recommended for the faint of heart or non-technically inclined.

I setup a computer for this application. It is a P4 2.8 gh, 2 GB Ram, 250GB SATA disk drive, Used AGP Video. only new part is the DVD Righter OEM $22 unit. OS XP Pro, Service pack 3.
Every thing went well after SP3 was installed. On the first test the play back using Media player looked bad, but when the DVD was run on my TV system with a Blue-ray player everything looked very good. Don't let the playback on the PC stop you, Try it on a good DVD player. Good product. Good Price.
