1Quickbooks not system 7 compatibleJul 11, 2010
After running Microsoft'S update agent for system 7 and checking with Intuit, I upgraded to system 7. At the time, both MS and Intuit said that QB pro 2009 was "certified" MS 7 compliant. IT IS NOT. If you check, MS still says it is, but Intuit has pulled its "certification." (System 7 has also been removed in the AMAZON listing as an operating system.) If you upgrade to system 7, QB pro 2009 will run, but be prepared for a lot of errors and problems.

1Get out the tylenol- this is the worst thing you could buyFeb 13, 2010
Quickbooks is quite the opposite of my experience with this program. It is quite the pain in the butt to use. The workflow is a pain in the neck to use because it is cumbersome. If you vary one little bit, you will screw yourself up. If you download transactions from the bank, the transaction will not reconcile if the dollar ammount is not the same as in quickbooks- there is no option to modify the billing after you receive the invoice (I normally have small shipping charges added to my invoices that are not present when I order) Anyway, I have to go back and delete the transaction from the register, delete the bill payment, delete the reception of inventory THEN add the shipping to the purchase order and go forward again. What a piece of CRAP... I will be scrapping this program for something else.

I'm enjoying this product for the most part - my only complaint would be that live chat screen that will not be deleted and it takes up screen space. But, besides that inconvenience the program enhancements are very helpful and I am not having had any problems with the upgrade or links thus far.
I would suggest this product for use for most small businesses.

5QuickBooks Much Better Than QuickenJan 10, 2010
After keeping the books for our club for 2009 on Quicken, I switched to QuickBooks Pro 2009 for my 2010 bookkeeping, and the new software is worth every penny. It does what I need to do so much better than Quicken, and sets up a much better paper trail. I think Quicken would be fine as a checkbook balancer for the home user, but I found it much too simplistic, and the reports function far too limited, to serve very well as a bookkeeping product for a club or organization.
