4Great Design ProgramAug 23, 2010
I am really impressed with this program for the minimum amount of money it cost. I love that I can use it on my Mac. It does a great job , is very handy to use and gives great results. I was thrilled that it has log home options but they are very limited and it's difficult to tell what those objects are.The only thing I don't like is that there is so little in the way of "final options"- furniture (not even a TV set!) types of doors (glass, closet) drapes etc and very limited colour choice for walls. As it has log home options you'd think they'd include log walls.

The landscaping feature is fabulous! Loads of trees and plants for all plant zones.

Bottom line- easy to use, gives great results and works well. Rendering is slow on my iMac G5 PPC. I guess Intel would be faster.
I sure wouldn't pay hundreds for a home design program for casual use when this one is available for such a low price.

1Very DisappointedAug 22, 2010
I used a previous version of 3D Home Architect very successfully. My new computer is Windows 7 based and 3D Home Architect would not run on it so I "upgraded" to version 10. That was a big mistake. Plans created in earlier versions are not supported. No sample plans are provided. Online support is poor. The online version is not refundable. I'm going to cut my losses and abandon this software and pursue a different solution.

2Poor SoftwardAug 09, 2010
Software is not user friendly, confusing and import of PDF does not work so I basically had to start from scratch to recreate the house plans I already had. I gave up using this program after 3 hours of going back and forth between the manual and program and never even finished getting my house plans re-created. I bought the software to cusomize what options I'd like to do to my new house but I'll probably never use it again.

4Great Home Designer for Mac OSXJun 15, 2010
I had version 9 and it was great back then. Their newest version 10, doesn't leave me disappointed. The newer version has added the cabinet designer, which is great, as well as the Roof Wizard. Two thumbs up!

2Don't buy this.Jan 31, 2010
This is a case where the old axiom "you get what you pay for" is accurate. The site touts this application as being the "ultimate easy-to-use home and landscape design solution..", and as having a complete set of tools that "will allow you to modify every detail..." This couldn't be further from the truth. The tools are simplistic to the point that I would equate this with your average piece of freeware. The available objects in the library are very basic (cabinet doors, for example, are just flat boards with a simple handle) and can only be adjusted with the included texture images. The "Cabinet Wizard" does let you create cabinets to a specific size, but there is no adjustment of the handles or face-styles. You can import objects, but only those saved in Punch's 'pob' format, so if you don't own Punch Via Cad or something similar you are out of luck. You can't add your own texture images. They have a set of color palettes, but while you can adjust the included colors you can't create a palette or add to an existing palette. Worst part of it is that they don't offer ANY refunds. My recommendation is that you skip this product.
